Music

I’ve been producing hip hop and working with artists and musicians internationally for 15 years. I prefer writing, composing and arranging music in the studio over performing. My main instrument is the piano though I can also play drums, bass and guitar. Under the name Lamchop, I craft dusty lo-fi beats using samples from my mom’s Cantonese record collection.

Horizon Terminal

I’ve been working with Hong Kong and New York-based guitarist Metic for 9 years. We started recording loops and samples in his apartment back in 2016 when we both lived in HK.

In a year, I moved back home to Victoria after living abroad for a decade. Metic also moved to New York too. During this transitionary period, Metic would fly to visit me for a week or two. We’d record and ended up crafting 2 EPs and 1 LP in the next few years. Horizon Terminal captures a crucial part in our journeys as we departed our 20s and headed for new lands.

Though we were moving apart, we joked that we would of course see each other again in the future. The name Horizon Terminal represents that idea: a mystic place in the far distance where we’ll all meet again.

The Dough Boys

The Dough Boys are a 5-piece hip hop band from Victoria, Canada featuring Brainiac (vocals), Shane Ranger (guitar, bass), Sasha Ilnyckyj (keys), Scott Cole (drums) and me (keys, bass). We really liked the the energy of live hip hop through a simple 3-piece band (drums, keys/guitar, bass) and a dope MC. Our self-titled LP presents one-take performances recorded in the summer of 2021.

Mikayla Geier

Michael Bruner and I produced one of Mikayla Geier‘s earlier songs, released in 2019. It’s my first song to achieve 1 million streams!

Lewis + Ranger

I played keys on this cozy song with Lewis and Ranger in 2020.
